What is TSM?

Tradeskillmaster (TSM) is a suite of add-ons for the World of Warcraft (WoW) video game that allows players to more efficiently manage and optimize their in-game professions and auctions. It provides tools and features such as price tracking, crafting cost estimation, and automatic auction posting, as well as a large database of historical pricing data and other market information. TSM is designed to help players maximize their income and minimize the time and effort required to manage their in-game economy, allowing them to focus on other aspects of the game. TSM is available for both the classic and current versions of WoW and can be downloaded and installed through the Curseforge platform.

What is a TSM group?

In Tradeskillmaster (TSM), a group is a collection of items that share certain characteristics and can be treated as a single entity within the TSM app. Groups can be used for various purposes, such as organizing items for crafting or for setting up rules for automatic auctions. TSM groups can be created using a variety of criteria, such as item type, quality, level, and other attributes. For example, a player could create a group containing all of their green-quality leather armor, or a group of all the rare herbs they have collected. Groups can also be nested, meaning that a group can contain other groups as well as individual items. This allows for even more granular organization and management of items within TSM.

How do I import a TSM group?

To import TSM groups, you will need to have the Tradeskillmaster (TSM) add-on installed and configured on your World of Warcraft (WoW) character. Here are the general steps to import TSM groups:
  1. Obtain the TSM group string that you want to import. This is a string of text that represents the group and its contents, and can be shared with others or obtained from online resources.
  2. In WoW, open the TSM app by typing “/tsm” in the chat window or clicking the TSM icon on your minimap.
  3. In the TSM app, click on the “Groups” tab in the left-hand menu.
  4. Click the “Import/Export” button at the top of the Groups window.
  5. In the Import/Export window, click the “Import” tab.
  6. Paste the TSM group string into the text box.
  7. Click the “Import” button.
TSM will then parse the group string and create the group or groups specified in the string, adding them to your TSM groups list. If the group already exists, TSM will update the existing group with the contents of the imported group. Note that importing TSM groups can overwrite existing groups with the same name, so it is a good idea to backup your existing groups before importing new ones, just in case. You can do this by exporting your groups using the “Export” tab in the Import/Export window.
